So I have a 3GS now, paying $30/mo for unl 3G data.

I am eligible for the upgrade to iPhone 4. But will they make me change to the new $25 2gb capped one if I do???

No. You can keep your unlimited plan if you want, but if you keep it you cannot get tethering. You have to choose: unlimited data or tethering. You can't have both.

uh thanks

Welcome to last week.

Hey, I have to ask, considering that it is technically a "new" 2 year contract, and to get the upgrade pricing, you are subject to new contracts and new policies.

Plus, AT&T's a buncha mcdouches.

But if everyone says that i'm ok, then great. My 2 friends who work at the Apple Store still claim that I won't be able to keep it though....

Cool. I'm not the least bit interested in tethering, so I'll be happy with the unlimited data plan.

well, and i'll just continue to use mywi for that anyway.... so that i can use it with my iPad....

Welcome to last week.

LOL but really, it was sort of a good question, even this week.

Upgrading your phone does not revoke your rights to keep your unlimited data place. Changing your data plan today does revoke your rights to go back to the unlimited data plan should you ever decide to.
