Yes, look at the cases for iPhone 8 and 8 plus on the site and it shows for iPhone 7/8

They should. The iPhone 8/8+ is 2mm thicker than the iPhone 7/7+ but this happened with the 6 going to the 6s (which was slightly thicker - cannot remember the exact number) but my Apple Leather 6 case fit my 6s. So they should fit.

:apple:

I don't see any reason as to why they wouldn't be interchangable. The only exception might be for extremely form fitting cases where 2mm would actually make a difference...so...probably not many.

Here's a question. If you put a case on the 8 will it hinder the wireless charging?

People have said Android phones they have used with cases and wireless charging have charged with the exception of very thick cases.

Apple is listing cases for the 7/7+ as fitting the 8/8+

This isn't exactly true. They are listing "new" Apple-branded silicone and leather cases that are compatible with the iP8 and iP7. These cases are listed as "new" and are not available for store pickup anywhere until 9/18.

My guess is that they tweaked the case slightly to accommodate the *slightly* larger iP8 (look up the dimensions and compare the iP8 to the iP7) and that this new case is backward-compatible with the iP7.

That said, they may not have changed a single thing with the case, but they are definitely marketing it as a "new" case.

They're also advertising some of their in-stock, existing cases as compatible.
