Soda On macbook 2.4 = Confusion

So soda was spilled on my macbook now it turns on and boots but after a few minutes it turns itself off, what gives? If the logic board is fried then why will it boot up? If the HD was bad it wouldn't boot up sooo? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
