soft or rigid case? or no case at all?

I am going to get an iPhone 11 tomorrow but my friend with big palm warned me that his 11 dropped at least once every month, is iPhone 11 really this easy to slip from hand and drop? My palm is even smaller than him a lot. If I am strongly recommended to get a case, which case should I get? A soft one or a rigid one?
