Hi I've got a friends iphone 3G which has a broken sleep/power button, it still works but the silver cap has come away - thats ok but I'm sure I remember seeing an app on Cydia that would give you a sleep/power button on springboard?

SBSettings > Power > Lock should give him what he needs.

the app. :that u r looking 4 called QuickLock2 and it's free on cydia from ModMyi.

using activator, you can assign a gesture or action to activate the sleep button.
