Anybody know how to retrieve your email password if you've forgotten it? I jailbroke (and therefore restored) my phone and now I can't seem to access my mail with what I thought was the right password (what I thought I was using before).

'My Softbank' doesn't seem to have an option to SMS the password to you and the error messages I'm getting don't really make it clear whether it's my password that's wrong or something else. I think I'm supposed to login with the first part of my @i.softbank.jp address and my email password, which is seemingly different from my My Softbank password...

Is there anyway (short of going into Softbank store) of getting a hold of my password for my email tonight? I can sign into My Softbank, since this is a different combination of password/login info, but I can't access my email. Help!

same problem

Did you ever find a solution to this problem?

I recently upgraded to the iPhone 3G S but there is nothing in the phone to indicate a way to retrieve the password.

Thanks

M

Getting email password from Softbank

Sorry about necroing this old thread. I saw it was unanswered and thought I'd answer it as I had a similar problem a few days ago.

1. Go to Settings -> Phone -> Softbank Mobile Services (in Japapanese, but it's the last option at the bottom of the screen)-> My Softbank.

You will be directed to your Softbank page with a host of options.

2. Select the last icon in the list, it should be "Softbank WiFi spot" (Again, in Japanese. Look for the grey, blue and black icon; it's the only one there.

You'll be directed to Softbank's wifi spot set up screen and you should see a white wifi network symbol on a grey background.

3. Select the network symbol.
You'll be directed to "sbwifi.jp"

4. Select "install" and softbank will install various free wifi hotspot settings as well as reinstalling your email password. You can also remove and reinstall the profile anytime you want.

I hope this helps.

Oh, a word of warning. This procedure might not help everyone. When I asked for help, I was told, for some reason, to open up the accessibility screen first and asked a couple of questions about the available options which would seem to imply that this procedure is dependent on some setup or state on your phone.

Thanks for replying

Thanks for replying to that old post.

I've long ago switched to the iPhone 4 and am looking forward to the 5. Again, many thanks for the effort.
