Hi all,

Having some trouble finding software which allows me to create a 3D model and then break it into 2D pieces to print.

Example - teddy bear pattern draw it in 3D then convert into 2D pieces to print, cut out and use as shape template.

Does anyone know of software which would allow me to do it?

Great thanks in advance :)

any 3d software that supports UVW unwrapping should let you do that. 3dsMax, cinema4D,etc.
Now that i think of it, Rhino even has a dedicated unwrapping tool specifically for meshes, so give that a try.

This.

I'll warn you now though UV Unwrapping takes some practice and is not as easy as one may think. You'll have to assign something like a checker pattern to the 3D model while unwrapping to ensure that the pieces are of the correct proportion.
