Software for dimming non Apple displays?

Hi there
I use both Apple and third party displays, and what I'm really missing on the non Apple displays is the fact that I can't dim then when hitting F1 / F2 on my keyboard. Due to the missing USB cable which enables that feature on other displays, no OS X implemented function works.

Does anybody know a software that can do this?
