I'm trying to get PokerAceHUD working on my windows xp install on my mac pro (www.pokeracesoftware.com). From what I have gathered on the forums there, there is a conflict with their piracey protection software and virtual machines. Usually when I open it, it shows up under processes and then closes without opening a window or anything, so that seems to be inline with the piracy protection idea. The developer is not interested in helping and won't let me pay him to make me a custom build. I have had it running once or twice, but I can't remember the particular conditions. I entered my registration key on one of these said runs - not sure if I could open it after again. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times and even deleted the only info I could find from this software in the registry. I need this program to work badly.

Is there anything I can do about this? What differences in a virtual and real machine are going to make something like piracy protection software not work?

Thanks.

edit: could this have something to do with the MAC address?
