First here are the machines specs, then my questions...

1.25 GHz Power PC G4
768MB RAM
OS X 10.3.4 Server

The machine will be used as a file and Filemaker Pro 7 server.

I would like for the 8 users to be able to connect to the server and save important files there and then have the raid mirror the data across my two drives. Can anyone give me any advice? Or tell me how to go about this. This is my frist time playing with RAID at all.

For example, MacTracker tells me I have 2 slots on the HD bus 1 - Ultra ATA/66, 1 - ATA/100 and then 4 expansion bays 2 - ATA/100, 2 - ATA/66. Do I set up one drive as the boot/application drive and then two drives(RAID 1) for the data? If so on what channels should I put each drive? If one drive does fail is it as simple as putting in a good drive or do I have to do something else with it?

So I hope this post is in the right place and I hope someone can give me some advice. I have a lot of OS experience and troubleshooting, but like I said this is my first time dealing with RAID and these sort of issues.

*note* due to budget adding a SCSI card is not an option and in reality the amount of data being tossed around is not going to be that much.

Thanks in advance.

*EDIT* I just found another thread here on the same topic, but it didn't answer all my questions... Sorry to create a new thread.
