I've enjoyed my iPhone 4 so far and really haven't had many errors with it. This morning I noticed the volume was sounding a little low and clicked the volume up and saw that it was still all the way up, BUT the 'ringer' font was not on the volume notification. I made sure I wasn't paranoid and I wasn't once I turned it on the iPod.

I rebooted it and it worked fine after that, until tonight when it did it again. Reboot and it's back fine.

Is that just a bug? My phone isn't jailbroken and is on 4.0.1 software.

only way to know it's a bug is to do a full restore (not from a back-up) and test out the speaker, if the noise continues, you might want to visit an Apple Store.

Others here on the board have mentioned similar experiences with their phone, but I haven't read of any outcomes.
