I use "Mac The Ripper" to rip the DVD to my iMac and then use Handbrake to encode to ipod touch format (there is a iphone/ipod touch) setting.

Or you can do straight from DVD from handbrake, but I like backing up the DVD too.

ok so i have downloaded handbrake and opened it, its asking for me to open the source but not finding the dvd i have just inserted??
Do i need to do something to the dvd first?
Thanks

I done my first one which seems to have worked fine. Fingers crossed pirates of the caribbean 3 works as i had a couple of errors come up which i choose pad out (think thats right?)
Thanks

May I be so bold as to suggest this thread?

Also, I'd like to suggest AnyDVD and CloneDVDmobile from Slysoft, in combination they offer the easiest and most useful converters I tried (as the thread says I tried Handbrake, DVD Decryptor, Videora and a bunch of others)

Good luck with your search!

H

Thanks very much so far i have done about 5 films but pirates 3 never worked nor did hot Fuzz, think i will have to try a different program to rip them??

I'm a newbie and finding it hard to understand how to use handbrake once i've ripped my dvd using mac the ripper. Handbrake does not seem to recognize the 'source'. So what is the best way to watch my dvd's on my ipod touch?
