software to covert usb to ip?

I have an eyetv hd out by my directv box, but my eyetv desktop is on my desktop, I have a media center pc that runs windows out by directv (windows) is there any software that preferably is free that I could run on the windows box to convert the usb to IP and then back to USB on the mac? Thanks.

This type of conversion needs to happen at the physical layer, I don't think it is possible at the application layer. http://www.petri.co.il/osi_concepts.htm
