Hi, I need to make a couple of video clips out of a DVD movie I own for a class in power point. What software would you recommend to do so? My Mac has IMovie but am not sure can get the job done.

I assume you mean a commercial DVD? Use Handbrake to rip the DVD to a Quicktime MP4 format, then open the ripped video in Quicktime to pull out the clips you want following this.
 
Yes, it is for a comercial DVD. Does handbrake can be found in the Apple Store? Is it free?
