software update 10.5.5 ERROR!

when i run my software update for my macbook pro, and click on "install 1 item" (which is the 'Mac OS X update' 321MB), it asks me for my password, and everything, but then a screen comes up saying "the update can't be saved, A networking error has occurred: Cannot open file (-3001). Make sure you can connect to the Internet, then try again"
I can't install it!
what do i do?

OK first the obvious, You do have a good connection to the internet, yes?

If you take the time read the thread I posted, there are instructions on how to download the update.

What about going to the apple download site and getting it from there? I know some prefer to get updates that way... and some really suggest strongly that we repair permissions before performing any update. Hope this helps...
