Wife just got a new 1.86/SSD MBA. When we first turned it on we did a transfer from her old 1.6 Rev A MBA. Everything seems to be working fine so far, with the exception of Software Update. Every time we try to use it we get the error -1001 (timed out). But all other internet activity works fine. I downloaded the 10.5.6 update direct, hoping that would fix it, but didn't. Anyone run into something like this? Figured it's more an OS X problem, not so much a hardware problem.

Looks like it was a mistake on my end. Our hotel's WiFi wasn't working, so I was using NetShare to browse the web. I forgot to turn off the SOCKS proxy option. All is working now. And I feel like quite the idiot, lol.
