Software update inst. of iTunes frozen

Just today the new macbook arrived, and the software updates were set to install. Everything went fairly o.k., until the iTunes update had to be installed.

It's been at the same installation stage for hours now, and nothing seems to happen. It doesn't seem that I can even shut the macbook down to retry, so I'm a bit stupified as what to do about it.

Weird. Maybe try installing iTunes manually. Delete it from the Applications folder first, and you may need to get rid of some PKG files in the Receipts folder too.
