Meaning the new revised iPhone that was changed for AT&T as well.

Ugh... Well I hope maybe the dev team will find a way to flash the new baseband or something. That's frustrating to be screwed over as an early adopter (again!)....

Bingo:D
Not on the old iphone 5 models.
Only on the new ones released after April 12.

You will be waiting for a very long time.
Its not something that they can unlock or rewrite the code inside the chip to access more bands.
It can only be done during manufacturing.

I wonder if a 3rd party unlock is considered "officially" unlocked (I bought an unlock code off of eBay). Also, I wouldn't consider early adopters "screwed" it's a hardware limitation that we knew of since the beginning; and I certainly wouldn't buy a new iPhone later this month with the potential 'newer' model a few months away.

No, it's literally the exact same phone, one just with it enabled from the factory.

Probably won't know until it hits the streets later this month but what does this mean for Applecare replacements? If I walk in with an older iPhone running on T-Mobile would they swap it with an older locked At&T model or a newer T-Mo/At&t model?

Apple is discontinuing the older iPhone 5 model and replacing it with the T-Mobile one. This includes AT&T as well.

Even though I'm pretty sure this is gonna be a server switch from Apple's back end to enable AWS HSPA+ with the new IP5s after April 12.

Can someone upload the T-Mobile Carrier Update IPCC file?

Question about this prerequisite:
Device software is not jailbroken
This only applies to the ability to recieve the OTA and not the ability to apply it via iTunes during a sync, correct?
