hi..
is it possible to do a software update on a computer which isn't connected to the internet?
(it can connect sometimes… very spotty and slow service though)

basically seeing if its possible to (easily) obtain a list from that computer then download the stuff onto my laptop at a different location… then transfer the DLs and install..

thanks

Never tried it without an Internet connection, but the software update caching feature of OS X Server may be what you're looking for. It essentially lets your mac ask another Mac on the network for updates, and that Mac keeps a cache of available updates for faster updating when you choose to do so. It should work for what you need.

hey man.. thanks
i read your post but i just wasn't (aren't) in that type of mode the past few months.. i had a car for the day so i drove a mp to an internet connection because it just seemed easier..

i was hoping for a two/three click thing.. ;)

(but just getting back to you to say your post wasn't ignored)
