Software update?

Will the software update replace the old software that it is updating so i do not have two versions of the same application? like if i update to Example version 2 it will erase example version 1 so i only have one of the same application and not both versions 1 and 2 on my computer at the same time?

it will add to and or modify existing files, you will not have two programs. Say iphoto gets updated to version one million 1, you will not have version one million and version one million 1... get it?

Yes, when you update it replaces what you already have.
