Software Updater not working - Serious Problems

Hello all,

I am at work and have limited time to respond to any suggestions today, but, will check back tomorrow around 12:00 (est).

This is becoming urgent as programs throughout my Mac are stopping because Software Updater is not downloading and installing any update - java, utilities, bug fixes, and I can't seem to find package downloads like one could find on a PC. (still somewhat a Mac noob)

Originally I was looking at running a program through rosetta, when, I discovered that my Software Updater has never successfully ever updated.

List of updates that i need now.

I've done everything that people suggest.

- ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate/ where ~ is your home folder) and delete them
- Try Software Updater from a different user
- Am Administrator of computer

Anywho, I'm frustrated beyond belief and have no idea how to fix this problem.

Any other suggestions and / or help is very much appreciated.

Step 1. Repair permissions / repair disk

Step 2:

Download latest 10.6 combo updater and try to install.

Or
Backup.
Archive and reinstall.

Step 3:
If under warranty, contact Apple.

I don't know why Software Update is not working, but for now download this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399. That will bring you to 10.6.8 which includes 99% of the patches.
