Really two questions: Catalina is showing an update (Garage Band) that it can't install. How can I turn this off?

Also, is there a way for only one user, or only admin users to receive update notifications? They are useless clutter for other users on my Mac.

I have GarageBand and iMovie of them that show up in Catalina as needing to be updated but both fail updating because they are not compatible with Catalina. For myself its been that way for many months. There seems no way of getting the App store to only show updates that are compatible with the OS. Given the amount of time that these have shown up, its obvious that Apple are not going to do anything and just further propagates the declining state of the ecosystem. I got rid of them in the end by removing the Applications. Seems the only thing that works.

If you delete the app then reinstall from the "Purchased" section, that seems to stop the notifications for those apps.

I'll just delete it since I don't think I've used it in years. I've had a few other random software update problems, the most annoying of which are requiring the same update multiple times.
