Now that Sogudi is incompatible with Safari 4, and Safari unlike most web browsers these days has no equivilant function, what are we gonna do now? Since Kitzkikz lost the source code, is this the end of that kind of functionality for Safari? I've realised in Safari 4 that I've become completely reliant on it.
Anyone got any suggestions, other than "use firefox/omniweb/opera/etc"?

What is it and what does it do?

From the site:
Configure your own shortcuts to search or visit your favorite sites using just a few simple keystrokes in Safari. Sogudi comes with several shortcuts included that allow you to search sites without waiting for their home pages to load, saving you time and effort.
Example: Just type 'vt' followed by your search term(s) into the Location bar and hit return. Sogudi translates your text into a fully qualified URL and the VersionTracker search comences.

Basically, type "g apple" into the address bar and it searches for 'apple' on google. Type "w dogs" and it searches for 'dogs' on wikipedia. 'az' for amazon, rt for rotten tomatoes, vt for version tracker and so on. Fully configurable for just about any search on any website. Makes checking stuff stupidly fast.

Glims works fine. I was saddened to let Sogudi go but the project is dead so there is no longer a point.

Glimmerblocker does this - and adblocks too. I recommend it.

It is a proxy not a plugin so will work with *any* versionn of Safari.

Having said that - I just tried out keywurl and it is *much* better!

The most user friendly keyword search thingy I have ever found...
