I'm quite excited about the Solar Eclipse coming up soon :)

Fabolous animation on the wiki page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_eclipse_of_January_4,_2011

From teh wiki:

A partial solar eclipse will occur on January 4, 2011. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partially obscuring Earth's view of the Sun. A partial solar eclipse occurs in the polar regions of the Earth when the center of the moon's shadow misses the earth.

The eclipse will be visible over most of Europe, the Arabian peninsula, North Africa and Western Asia.

According to the weather forecast, there is a 30% chance of cloud on Tuesday morning in London, so there's roughly a 60% chance I'll see something. It's been wall to wall grey cloud the last week so I'm marking my chances down a bit.

Where'd the other 10% go?;)

It's too bad more of the world can't see it. I took some flipping amazing pictures of the lunar eclipse and would've liked to have been able to take a solar eclipse picture as well.

Has anyone been watching Stargazing Live on BBC2? I'm actually looking forward to watching a program on TV.

I was right to bump up the probability of it being cloudy :( Saw nuffink from London.

Damn lovely photos from the beeb website.
