The big question would be why? Sun has no assets that I can think of worth much money. Apple is nibbling into their bread and butter with the XServes and DP G5's. Solaris is pretty good for an OS but has nothing innovative about it. Any people worth buying can probably be poached.

Note that it is Solaris 2.5.1 and dated 1996. It wouldn't surprise me if someone somewhere inside Sun is keeping the code base alive.
