iPod touch sold 1st gen Touch, will buy new, how do I get paid for music on to the new one?

Hi everyone,

I am searching but can't quite seem to find the key words to use

I sold my 1gen iPod Touch 32gb and will buy a new 2nd gen iPod Touch 32gb.

Can I download previously purchased music and books to the new iPod Touch?

Do I need to contact the Apple store? I could not find a support page on Itunes that tells how to do this.

All your music and books should be in your iTunes library so when you sync your new touch they should all be transferred over.

also, the paid for music is saved via your iTunes account i believe. Enter that into iTunes and sync.

If you bought the songs using the iTunes store on your old iPod, you should have selected "transfer purchases from iPod" from the menus when syncing with iTunes, that would have transferred the tracks to your computer.
