I recently sold my phone. The person who I sold it too purchased AppleCare as it was still within the year.

I have just received in the post an AppleCare purchase Certificate, with my name and address on it.

Should I pass this on the the person who brought my phone, will this be a problem.

What is the reason why it came to me, is it just that they didn't put their own address in when they purchased AppleCare?

You registered the phone's serial with Apple, that's my guess.

Im not sure how or when I would have done that, it was a contract phone if that makes any difference?

Is this going to be a problem should they need it to be fixed?

Hrm. I would assume it just sends it to the address of the person whom activated it (they would generally assume the person activating it on their line would be the one using it).

I would call 1800myapple and speak to Applecare about it.

Im in the UK, is there an email contact?

It doesn't matter - they'll never need the certificate.

If there's ever a question about coverage, all they'll need is the applecare box and receipt.

Thanks. That has given me peace of mind. Do you think its worth passing the certificate onto the buyer?
