Hello,

we sold our old MacBook and to reset everything i followed the instructions from an Apple support document.
One step is to log of from iCloud.

To do this one have to open the settings, go to iCloud and hit "log off".

When i did it first of all all documents from iCloud got (again) synchronized to the Mac i want to log off. No idea why, because the whole iCloud drive was already synchronized...however after hours of synchronizing it seems to have finished to download all documents.

My problem is that after downloading all documents it stays now in a state where it tells me that it has to create an Archive folder for all documents, it has to copy it there and then it can proceed with the log off.

However it is in this state since hours and does not go on.

My questions are:
- is it a must to log off from iCloud? I mean i will anyway reset the MacBook and i will do a clean installation of the OS.

- If it is a must, has someone an idea how i can get this done?

Thanks in advance.

I didn't quite get the first part but, yeah, I believe logging out from iCloud is necessary as it asks for the password when you reinstall the OS. At least it is like that with iOS.
