Solid State HD: Hot or not?

Is it worth it to upgrade the new MacBooks to the Solid State HD?

I am still waiting on confirmation on the exact model of the SSD's that are used in the MBP.

A $500 premium for less storage space? I say no. I haven't seen anything that proves the SSD speed bumps will really make everything run faster. I'm able to stream DVD-quality videos over a network from a HDD, so I don't see the advantage at that price. I could understand in the MBA for battery life, maybe, but it's still quite a leap. Give them a year and you'll see them maybe less than 200% of the price of the same size HDD.
