i have a late 2009 27" imac, purchased this summer as a apple store refurbished model. About two weeks ago a thin pink-ish/purple vertical line appeared on the display. It disappeared after a reboot, then came back a couple days later. Did that a couple of times, and now it appears to be there to stay. I've tried a PRAM reboot, and that didn't do anything. It's still under its initial one year warranty, so i assume Apple will take care of this. Do i need to send it in to apple or can i just take it into an apple store?

Sounds like either power supply or gpu problem. Taking it into an apple store should work just fine.

I think your GPU is dying, I would definitely take it into Apple post haste.
