Rubber is a prous material that tends to absorb colors, dirty and dyes. I have a bumper case for my white iPhone 5 that keeps basically turning into an easer and getting very nasty looking. I was wondering if there was any solution to this and how iPhone 4 users dealt with it.

I had a clear back and side soft case on my 4. It did yellow a bit in time. It was $20. I figure if my case for my new phone ( same clear soft plastic) yellows, it was cheap and I will replace it. Love the white with a clear case. Ps I also wipe the phone and case with a soft cloth often to keep grit and dust down.

My problem is that the white rubber keeps turning dark grey after a week, and working like an eraser. I don't want to buy a new case every week.

I really hope that's not the only solution

Worked for me. Black iPhone 5 with orange/green/red cases, all turned gross. Would turn gross after a couple weeks, deal with it, and replace at 5-6mo.

Got the white iPhone this time for that reason, every colored case I've had in the past has turned dingy and gross over time. So I could have a black bumper without a boring all blacked out phone that gets lost in a dim room.

Anyway, hard plastics have less chance of discoloring than the soft impact absorbing ones.
