If you just upgraded on iOS 5.0.1 with old modem baseband and now you have troubles with Gevey, here is 100% working solution:

You don't need install/uninstall anything - just do usual things WITH A DELAY!!! Patience is a real solution.

1)Turn on iPhone, insert Gevey, wait until 'hello' message appears. Don't press 'OK' and wait 1-2 minutes! Now press 'OK'
2)Call 112, end the call shortly, go into the 'Options' and turn on 'Airplane mode'. Now wait again for 1-2 minutes!
3)You shold receive one error message. Wait again for 1-2 minutes, press 'OK' on that message and wait again for 1-2 minutes.
4)Now turn off 'Airplane mode' and you should see that iPhone connects to the operator. Profit!

You could also try installing one of the several tweaked FuriousMods out there- they worked for me without ever dialing 112.
