I've had the hardest time getting my movies to synch to my iPhone ever since iOS8 was released and now with iTunes 12 it's the same but I found a solution, this might work for you.
I have a ton of music video files that are in my iTunes library (not purchased from apple store) but will just not synch to my iPhone. Now with iTunes 12 when I am in my iTunes library under the Movies tab (top left) then My Movies tab in the middle and I click on one of my videos it says, "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes."
This is a bug (something about your videos were done in 32 bit and iTunes now only supports 64 bit) if you google it, it says just start your iTunes in 32 bit but you can't do that with iTunes 12. Do not worry about this.
Here is the solution, delete your video from your iTunes library but don't delete the original from your hardrive. Then import your video back into your iTunes library, now if you double click the name of the video you just imported back it will play in iTunes. So the trick is delete the video then import it back into your iTunes library.
Now this is how you get it on your iPhone with iTunes 12
When your phone is plugged into iTunes, click on your phone icon on the top left side, this will give you the summary page of your iphone, on the left side bar go to "On My Device: section and click on Movies, Here you will see what movies are on your iPhone. For me, only 3 movies/videos were showing when I knew that I had tons more in my library. So look over to the far right side there is a button that says "Add To" Click that, It will open a side bar on the right showing your movies/videos currently on your iPhone and on the left side it will show your "My Movies" that are in your iTunes library. (Here is where you want to make sure you do the step I mentioned prior/above where you want to make sure all your movies/videos are playing in your library first and if they don't delete them from your library and re- add them back into your library)...(I had to do that for a lot of my videos first)
So getting back, your on that split screen, right side shows your movies/videos currently on your iPhone and on the left is your My Movies tab of movies/videos in your library. Just drag your movie/video from your library over to the far right side under Movies for your iPhone, as soon as you drag it over the movie/video will synch auto to your phone and you will see it listed in your movie section on the far right side. When your done draging and dropping then click done on the far right side. That will take you back to "On My Device (Movies) for your iPhone and you will see the video is now added to your iPhone.
I don't know if a lot of you knew how to do this and get your movies/videos back on your iPhone but this process works for me. I couldn't figure out why my movies/videos were in my iTunes library but they were not synching to my iPhone, but if you follow these steps above, you can get them to synch again.
I don't know why Apple changed all this because this is a lot of work to get back all my videos on my iPhone when they were already there with iOS 7.
I hope this helps you.
