Hi,

Can anyone recommend a set of Apple-specific screwdrivers? What can I use to open the case of a year 2020 Mac Mini.
Preferably from amazon.com and amazon.de.

I discovered that I have a bigger problem with dust accumulating inside my computer.

I used the ifixit brand kit that was about $75. You probably don’t need that big one just to take apart of Mac mini though. It’s been a while since I took mine apart so I can’t remember exactly what tools I needed.

I will say it at a certain part of the disassembly there are some cables that can easily be damaged. I would look at the ifixit guides. Just for dust you should be able to blow compressed air into the vent

The simple TORX just doesn't fit. I have thin TORX bits, they didn't fit.
Must be the version with a hole, TORX Security. Google thinks it's TR6.

The Apple Repair Manual lists tools:

I found that page by starting at the iFixit teardown for the 2020 mac mini model.
Search terms to find that page: ifixit 2020 mac mini

From there, I scrolled down to the Additional Information section, which links to Apple's Repair Manual. I'd forgotten that Apple itself now has repair docs for many of its products, now that it offers DIY repairs and tool rentals.

My new search terms will be: apple repair manual model name here

Solved. I do have a lathe though, and I used a center drill to make a hole in the center for a suitable bit.
The screws were glued on, and the Chinese bits broke easily.
but i got the cover off and the dust off. the computer works and no parts were left ;)
