Looking for a touch screen (USB-C) that actually fully works with a mac MINI m1.

I tried the Eyoyo USB-C unit and while it works brilliantly with Windows, it falls rather short on macOS...also it is a tad big at 13"...want something closer to mac MINI size, or even a tad bigger is fine.

It is the touch operation I really need as I am using it on stage and have no room for a mouse or keyboard...well that, and the graphics from the mac do not really play out well on the Eyoyo either.

I guess even one with a HDMI might be ok, but afaik, HDMI would also need a USB cable for the UI operations...anyhoo, any ideas are welcome...at the mo I am back to using the iPad mini.

Oh and I tried Screens Connect using the iPad mini and it was a dismal failure. It connected ok but you lose so much screen real estate to allow that bar along the bottom (not needed when using touch - which it also does not do very well) that it gets too small to be able to effectively do anything (and remember this is on stage, so there is not time to dilly dally using pencils or drag enlarging to access a control etc) ....AND it must have wi-fi to work which then means I have to add yet another device (my iPhone with local hotspot) to get it to work....

All in all, I think a dedicated touch screen monitor that DOES work is going to be the best solution, hence the need to find one and the thread question :)

214 folks have had a look at this and no-one has any suggestions? Must be LOTS of bedroom musos here then, where this does not affect them I guess....

I have found a tech company in UK (Touch-Base) who make a macOS driver (costs 60 pounds, about $120 Oz) that apparently enables "gestures"? in macOS, something Apple removed after or just before Big Sur, again, just what I have read!

So to make it easier, does anyone (apart from the *crickets*) know of an Apple OS app or driver before I go and fork out over $100 JUST for a driver?

I don't buy touch-screens, so I have no idea what touch screen works perfectly with a mini I don't own, but I wish you well on your search...

I did view this just out of curiosity, but still don't have anything good to add, other than "good luck"

Actually, I used touch screen computers in libraries in the 80s, but I don't think any of those are compatible with equipment now-a-days.

haha, thanks :) that's cool, I do appreciate the thought ?

Don't need it in the studio with the mouse and keyboard, but on stage, a different matter....trying to use the mac mini to replace the iPad mini - I did try Screens Connect and it was pretty ordinary!

Wasn't a touch screen so much as the drivers Apple left out of Monterey - The Touch-Base drivers worked a treat and I now have pretty much full touch functionality on the macmin.

For folks with interest, what hardware and software finally worked for you?

Any iPad will work with MacMini through Universal Control and there are also other utilities that do similar tasks. Google them
