Hi all

I have the Early 2008 MBP (2.6 Core 2 Duo / 4g RAM)

I'm thinking of upgrading to a top of the line MBP i7 - I use my MBP for producing music (I use Ableton Live) and DJing.

This is my question...(s)

1. Will I see a massive difference in a music program like Ableton does anyone know?

and more importantly..

2. Should I buy 4g RAM and upgrade to the full 8 - I did this with my MACPRO and had to buy matched RAM.. is that the same with the MBP do you reckon?

3. I want an SSD but a read that like RAM the SSDs are overpriced with apple.. and reco's on a good SSD 320 or 500 gig?

... any advice is gratefully received, I hope I havent annoyed anyone by asking very common questions!

:)

Go with the 15" i5. You don't really need the i7 I have heard. Don't buy your RAM or SSD from Apple. Buy them from OWC (macsales.com).

OWC makes a 240 GB for about $600 and a 480 for $1,500.
