I am finally considering replacing my 12" G4 powerbook. the new Macbooks are very close to what I want in my replacement, I am torn between the 2.0 GHz and the 2.4 GHz if I up the Hard drive on the 2.0 to 250 the extra speed in reality is $200. my question is what is the trade of saving the $200 will I regret not getting the faster machine.

If you have the cash, buy the greater machine. You seem to be the type to save computers and use them a lot. You'll be thankful later on when 2.4 sounds much better than 2.0.

I just bought the same spec'd laptop that freshman03 has. found it at half the price of the new models (with no tax!). just getting into animation, so I thought it'd would be a good way to get aquainted until I become more adept, then I'll move onto Nehalem, or whatever 'tribe' is style, in another year or 3? since I'm in no hurry, I figure by the time I'm ready to upgrade, the Mac's then should be 'hell' renderers by then!
