Some Applications Won't Launch

I'm running OSX 10.4.11 with a 2 GHz Intel Cor 2 Duo and 2 GB of RAM.
When I try to load some applications (specifically CoRD and ImageResizer) they just briefly appear in the dock and then disappear, failing to open. These programs were not recently installed.

I've restarted, uninstalled/reinstalled the programs, verified/repaired permissions, verified/repaired the disk, re-updated the combo patch, run in a newly created account, cleared the cache, and deleted the preferences. With all of this, the programs are still failing to launch. Why? How can I get them to open? It's not OS threatening, but quite annoying.

I would guess that it's the same deal with Image Resizer. As time goes on, programs are gonna drop support for older OSes. You say these are not new installations, did you update recently? Maybe an older version of CoRD did support Tiger. A good updater should only give you updates compatible with your OS, but some of them don't, so be sure to read about a release before you update. If I were you, I'd try and get my hands on an older version of the software.
 
Even though it says it supports 10.5 and 10.6, there is another Mac of exactly the same specs at this one running CoRD currently, with no problems. But ImageResizer does have a >10.5 spec...so...yeah, I guess it's not going to work. Thanks.

What version of CoRD is it running? I see you're running 0.5.0. Anyway, if it's not supported for Tiger, that doesn't mean it's impossible for it to work on Tiger, but it does mean it's not guaranteed to or designed to. Basically if it works on a system, you're lucky. You could try some things like deleting the .plist files, but I can't promise it'll help.
