Some apps want to copy every time I sync with iTunes

I just picked up my first Mac (refurbed) and every time I have connected my iPhone to iTunes, it says it needs to copy several apps before it can sync. Weatherbug Pro, Angry Birds and one more I forget off hand. Anyway, why is this?

Also, the copying of these apps takes an extremely long time.
