Some comparison pics between the 13"

I wanted to check out the new 13" and try out the keyboard and snapped some pics. I currently have the 2011 macbook on the left hand side so i did some comparisons to that and then to the 2015 model. Tested out the keyboard back and forth between the new 13" and the macbook too.

Also, the keyboard is definitely more clicky and i feel like there is subtle increase in depth between the macbook and the pro. You can tell when you hit the space button especially. i typed on both for a good 15 minutes back and forth. I feel like the pro's keyboard is more solid and i didn't make mistakes at all. Its very speedy and the larger keys are definitely nicer than my current macbook pro.
The trackpad didn't feel abnormal large i didn't realize my palms where resting on it the whole time and didn't register any cursor clicks or movement. The machine feels very solid.
The sound coming off this thing is amazing. Room filling sound it was impressive compared to my 13" the 15" i order i can only imagine being louder than the 13". The screen as you can see is a nice improvement over the retina macbook pro especially off angle. Compared to my macbook its a huge difference i can't wait to have a decent screen.

I sold my 2011 MBP over a year ago - thinking the new one was due soon - and now using a 2009 MB. So it gives me a good idea of what to expect (should I pull the trigger). I'm not sold on space gray though, by chance you didn't take any comparison pictures with silver ?

Nope just the space gray. I don't think they had the silver 2016 version on the table. I love the gray in person. Happy i went with it after having silver for 5 years and white before that. Ive been waiting for a redesign or at least a upgrade since 2014. Almost had enough last year and almost got a 2015. Been waiting 2 and a half years for upgrading.

Yea, seems smaller from the pics. Especially the sides. The top still needs room for the camera, mic and light sensor.

Yea definitely smaller. About half as big on the sides and a little on top. Hard to tell about the bottom. You can see a good comparison on the lower lid pic with the lids angled back. half the size about.

thanks for the pictures. i have to admit the spacegrey looks awesome but it also seems to be a fingerprint and dirt magnet. therefore im leaning towards the silver one also as i prefer the more classic, timeless look. that being said im kinda sad that they took away the glowing apple.

however it will be my first mac and im going to get the escape edition standard config

The bezels are slimmer. That's actually what allows the new MacBook Pros to have smaller footprints than their predecessors, as the display sizes remain the same.

The Space Grey in Person looks amazing, makes the silver look dated imo.
