Hi all,

I’ve noticed that I have a few phone contacts that don’t show up on my iPad. So when I look at iMessage on my iPad, they show up as phone numbers only, with no name.

I could easily manually add that particular contact, but there are a few of them, and it’s impractical to go down the entire list of hundreds to find which ones are not in iCloud.

I’ve tried turning off the iCloud contact synch on my phone and iPad (separately), but this doesn’t work either. When I check the LISTS page in the contacts app on my phone, there’s a difference of a dozen contacts between the “all contacts” list and “iCloud” list.

Thanks for any help

Guess as I only use iCloud: sounds like you have another account enabled on iPhone that is syncing contacts and that account is not setup on iPad. Or, you have local to iPhone contacts (eg. created contacts before turning on iCloud Contacts). Neither will sync automatically via normal iCloud syncs.

If local contacts, might be able to bring up the contact, scroll down, "Add to List" to add the contact to an iCloud contact list.
