I've got my MB driving a 22" LCD (clamshell mode) and all seems to be working well. 99% of the time everything looks great. However, every now and then, whether I'm browsing a website or reading a document or the like, some fonts appear grainy and choppy. Sometimes, it's to the point that things are unlegibile (illegibile?)

Anyway. My monitor is at the highest res it can take (1680x1050), the colors are calibrated perfectly... my MB is detecting the correct display (Dell E228WFP) and I can't find any review or comments indicating that anyone with the same setup has this problem...

... any ideas? can I font smooth or something?

Is your anti-aliasing on? You can find it in the control panels in the above row, the most right control panel ("view" or something (losely translated from Dutch)). If its on, try reducing the anti-aliasing font.
