I want to jail break my Ipod Touch but I have some questions?

1: What is so good about jail breaking a ipod touch?
2:Will Jail breaking void my warrranty?
3: If it does void my warranty then is their any way to restore it so that apple will cover it?
4: Is there any way to completely restore it to pre jail break settings?
5: Will my applications from before the jailbreak still be usable?

1 - Custom themes... background, buttons, docks, bars, calenders, cals...etc.. third party apps..etc
2 - Yes, but you can easily restore back to factory settings
3 - yes, restore on itunes
4 - yes
5 - yes
