American History X Enjoyed this movie, but I'm afraid of using the urinals in HS restrooms
Pineapple Express Haven't seen it
Superbad Hilarious
Cast Away Sorry, a snoozer
Armageddon God Bless The USA
Perfect Storm No Winners in this one
Air Force One I thought only President Teddy Roosevelt was a medal of honor recipent

Generally the action / thriller / comedy movies.

Nice selections Nick...

Thanks SSFS. Do you have any movies you like similar that i didn't post?

I watched Pineapple Express the other night. It was bloody terrible... worst movie I've seen in a long time. Which is a shame, because generally Seth Rogen is alright, though no genius.

Forgetting Sarah Marhsall, OTOH, is hilarious (and has the added benefit of starring the gorgeous Mila Kunis).

WALL-E. Loved it.

Saw Quantum of Solace last week, I really liked it.
Watched The Dark Knight again last night, Movie of the Year, IMHO.
Going to see either Australia or Seven Pounds today with the wife...

I second Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Definitely see that one. I can't really think of any more right now though.

Oh, and I loved Armageddon, actually made me cry (I'm a girl so it's ok, ha)

All of these are also available on my iPhone:

The Salton Sea (Val Kilmer)
Star Wars I-VI (I think I'm hooked)
Maxed Out: Hard Times, Easy Credit and the Era of Predatory Lenders (Scariest movie I've seen in awhile)
Colors (Sean Penn & Robert Duvall)
Blackhawk Down (Sad, Sad Movie)
The Last King of Scotland
Waterboy (laughed so hard my side hurt)
U-571 (Sad as well)
GO (hilarious)
The Longest Yard (Burt Reynolds is good in the remake)
The Shawshank Redemption (one of the best movies ever)
Starsky & Hutch (Hilarious)
Speed (Very entertaining movie, Dennis Hopper is the best)

I'm keeping my list short, and sweet...

i personally like indie films here are some that i have watched in the past and recently

Diving Bell and the Butterfly
Wristcutters
Purple Violets
Wicker Park
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Being John Malkovich
Garden State
Rounders
Sukiyaki Django Western...

some of these are romantic comedies...haha

WALL-E. Loved it.
Yup.

I'd also say:
Sahara (good, clean old-fashioned adventure)
Vanilla Sky (not really a thriller, but psychological)
Either of the National Treasure films
Disturbia
The Ex
Thelma & Louise (okay, maybe a bit chick flick-ish)

..don't be fooled: Wild Hogs was stupid.

Here's an underrated classic: Across the Pacific with Humphrey Bogart. Bogart was never an action hero, but he really pulled it off in this one. Great plot; you almost wish they'd remake it.

I saw Timeline again the other night. I remember how it got pummeled by the critics but I really liked it.

The Shawshank Redemption
Scrooged
Transporter was great. 2 not so much. 3 was OK.

Are you kidding? The Audi that never showed a hint of damage, even after it was driven through a concrete wall? Man, those cars are tough! :D

I thought it was reasonable. Pretty stupid, yeah, but a fun popcorn flick nonetheless.

Shawshank is a brilliant movie...

Other oldies that come to mind:
Catch Me If You Can
A Beautiful Mind

Just had a browse through rottentomatoes.com 's list of 2008 and 2007 - some great ideas from there.

Some of my favorites include:

Memento (one of the smartest films I have ever seen)
Terminator 2 (sci-fi doesn't get much better...)
Aliens (...except maybe with this one....)
Serenity (... and definitely this one ;) )
Batman Begins (amazing film)
The Dark Knight (solid sequel, a rarity it seems)
The Matrix (just the first one!)
Hard Boiled (mindless, gratuitous action movies do not get any better than this!)

I have many others, but that should do for now... ;)

Speaking of express, I watched "Midnight Express" the other night. Hadn't seen it for a while.
