Some help please?

I have a jailbroken iphone 4 at 4.0.1. I love the tethering and I've been avoiding updating my phone since doing so. However, I feel like I am missing out on some important updates.

Could I get some advice as to how I can update my phone and still maintain the jailbroken/tethering capabilities? I feel like I've skipped so many updates that I might be screwed.

Also, I believe I stored my settings somewhere with Cydia or Rock, if that makes sense.

might start by reading Stickies at the top of the forum they will answer many questions. as well as the links on my signature. I don't mean to be mean but using google and search you would have already found all your answers.
