I have a MacBook Pro 13” 2011 model. I know it sounds old but it’s been working great... to now! It’s normally fast enough. I upgraded RAM to 16Gb and to a SSD years ago and it’s fast ever since.

But recently SOME apps started to hang with the beachball. It would not recover if I waited. Specifically it’s any browser (Chrome, Firefox or Safari) on SOME webpages (maybe ones with heavy processing). And terminal (but not iTerm and alternative replacement). Couple of other apps I sometimes use. Most common other apps I use were fine.

I ran some health software including Apples and no problems came up. I scanned for malicious software and nothing came up.

I reinstalled the OS a week ago and it fixed it.

Now today it just started happening again for no reason.

I notice that while I have this problem the screen sometimes sort of flashes every minute. See this video for the flash https://share.icloud.com/photos/0kcETidmm0ntlL-RWXoUBuDCA

Anyone have an idea what the issue is? I don’t know if it’s hardware or software.

Thanks
