Some new mails not appearing

Some help here please.

I got an iPad 2, iPhone 6 Plus and a 2012 MacBook. The iPad and iPhone both use the same settings for mail but for some reason the are some new mails that do not appear in my inbox for my iPhone unless I manually search for them. All my mail appear as they should be on my iPad and MacBook. The missing mails aren't spam either. Really strange behaviour from my iPhone.
