I have an iPhone 7 with 32 GB memory. Out of these 27.3 are being used. For the last fifteen days I have been observing that contacts are mysteriously disappearing from the phone. Last week I added my sister's phone number and I observed this week that it is no longer there. I had made a backup two months ago in iTunes in Windows PC. Since then I added some Covid-19 apps. I don't want to restore the phone from backup but I only need my prevous Contacts file. Also I want a solution for this Mysteriously disappearing contacts. I had tried to make call while driving using CarPlay and I found that the contact is not there. Kindly help.

A few more details would help…

What version of iOS?

When you open Contacts and select "Groups" what do you see?

In Settings>Contacts what is you Default Account?

What contacts sources are configured on the phone? Which one is set as default? Is that source checked in the Groups tab of the Contacts app?

Under "Groups" at the top left of contacts see what is checked. I had this issue that when I would add new contacts they were being saved on the phone, but my view was set to "All iCloud" so the contacts I had added weren't showing up. I changed a setting to where all new contacts added would be saved to iCloud and then I changed those that were on the phone only to iCloud. It fixed my issue.
