Ok I will be getting a 3g iphone soon under AT&T so there is no need to unlock it but i have hordes of friends who have the new 3g as well but want to unlock. I already know how to do the 2g iphone so thats not a big deal.

1. If i jailbreak the 3g iphone it will just let me do some application changes ie let me install and such. But since i will be on AT&T this wil still let me update and such?

2. Is there any unlock method for the new 3g. If i have a 3g iphone and dont want to use At&T and will be using another carrier will i be able to activate it? and use any other sim card? Only reason i ask is i travel abroad and i dont plan on using AT&T when i elave the country.

3. Is there any point in even unlocking the 3g phone? Cuz the new firmware will not allow for certain programs that werent programmed for 2.0
