I think one of the best things about iOS 10 is that animations are so much shorter/faster, it's surprising how much faster/snappier this makes the phone feel. The only issue is, sometimes it uses the old slower/longer animation, and sometimes it uses the new fast/short one. Has any one else noticed this? I hope they fix it, all the animations should be short and fast

I can tell you why this happens.

1. Open an app from page 1.
2. Invoke app switcher
3. Switch to an app that is stored on a different home screen without going home first.
4. Press the home button
5. The device should return you to the first home screen that you were last on, but since the app you were in does not exist on that screen, then that app has to minimize into the center of the screen rather than its own icon.

That's why you get the same animation as unlocking your phone. Lemme know if this helped.
